Our first Yin Yoga class on the water, perfect for beginners! Yin Yoga consists of passive, long-held (5-minute) floor postures, which mainly affect the spine, hips and pelvis while specifically targeting the connective tissue. Regular Yin practice brings moisture back into the connective tissues, therefore lessening joint issues and enhancing overall mental and physical well-being. This is a special event.

“Wind, Waves + Water”  Seneca Stone Art by Michael Callahan with a live acoustic performance.

In early childhood, I spent hours collecting shells and stones on various beaches around the US with my parents and grand parents. Searching for the right stones is a type of meditation. I am inspired by the vertically stacked shale-stones formed by waves near the waters edge of Seneca Lake. I like to think that my best work is achieved when I get out of the way of myself and let the stones take me where they want to go, as close to nature as possible.

Michael Callahan holds a degree in Industrial Design from The University Of The Arts in Philadelphia. He has studied landscape painting, glass blowing, blacksmithing, woodworking and pottery. He spent 20 years designing products mainly in the housewares industry working on brands such as Steuben, OXO, All Clad, Umbra, Pyrex, Revere and Oneida. He has lived on Seneca Lake for 20 years with his wife Mary.

be advised that there are many stairs to climb, a dirt floor basement and some confined spaces included in the tour.  The tour lasts an hour. Recommended for adults and children over 10 years old. As space is limited, reservations are required and can be purchased at historicgeneva.org. The tour lasts an hour.

This is our most popular class! You'll learn basic paddling skills on the land, and then paddle around the North end of Canandaigua Lake. After paddleboarding, we'll come together as a group for a yoga class designed to ease tensions that might rise up from learning to balance on the board. The perfect mix of movement and stillness. This class is for all levels and no prior experience is required!

The Allegany River Seneca Dancers are a Native American dance group that showcases the traditional songs and dances of the Iroquois.

9:30 am: Group Shows (reservations required) 

11 am: Individuals and Family Shows

Shows typically last 45-60 minutes.

This is also an opportunity to explore the museum for free on the day of the event.  Come enjoy the program and then delve into the rich cultural heritage housed within the Museum.

Family Day at Rose Hill Mansion will be held on Saturday, August 10 from 12pm to 4 pm. This free family-oriented event will have a scavenger hunt in the historic mansion and activities for kids on site. The Freier family are bringing their farm animals to view, and Joan Burch will play music from 12pm to 2pm.  Geneva Rotary will sell hamburgers and hotdogs so bring a blanket for a family picnic. Time Travelers of Seneca County will be in costumes playing old fashion games. Town of Fayette Historical Society and Girl Scouts will have hands-on activities.  Ithaca Maple Works will be selling a variety of premium maple products produced.  

The Carriage House Gift Shop will be open during the event. Rose Hill Mansion is a property of Historic Geneva. Support for Family Day is provided in part by the Nelson B. Delavan Foundation Part A.

The blueberry moon paddle is led by Saunders Finger Lakes Museum’s NYS Outdoor Guides and Educators, taking guests out onto the waters of Keuka Lake, through wetlands, and back up Sugar Creek. End the paddling experience with a bonfire and snacks.

Jazz Greats concerts on the Vineyard Stage have been a summer staple at Glenora Wine Cellars since the first concert was held in 1983, shortly after the winery opened its doors. Over the past 40 years, Glenora has welcomed some of the biggest names in contemporary jazz in the world to its stage overlooking beautiful Seneca Lake and the vineyards. The concert series takes place on the third Sunday in July, and again on the third Sunday in August each year.

Concerts are held on the Vineyard Stage, with plenty of lawn seating. Gates open at 12:00pm, show starts at 2:00pm.

Free summer concert at Rose Hill Mansion! Bring a picnic dinner, lawn chairs or a blanket. Enjoy an evening of music on the lawn to end a summer weekend in the Finger Lakes. On Sunday, August 18, Annie Ol’Thyme featuring Trish Engelhard, Nora Starr and Lisa Ann Wright three-part harmony of bluegrass, country and original songs along with fiddle, guitar, mandolin and other instruments.

The last regular tour of Rose Hill Mansion will run at 3:30 p.m. There will be no house tours during the concerts. The Carriage House Gift Shop will be open during the concerts.
