Christina Muscatello, Program Director of the Memory Maker Project, visits The Rockwell Museum to broadcast programs live from our galleries! This month, Christina will explore Astonishing Brilliance, The Rockwell’s spotlight exhibition about the introduction of electric light and its influence on art and American culture.

An Evening with Dr. Krewasky Salter: Buffalo Soldiers and the African American Experience in the U.S. Army

The Southeast Steuben County Library and The Rockwell Museum invite you to an evening with Dr. Krewasky Salter as he presents and answers questions on the history of the Buffalo Soldiers amid the larger context of the African American experience in the military. This program is made possible by a grant in memory of Keith Vaughan.

As the 2022 Antigravity artist, Rachel Hellmann will transform the Museum’s rotunda with a site-specific installation. Rockwell Ambassadors are invited to meet Hellman and be one of the first to experience this new, year-long installation.

A pioneer in the artistic use of electronic technology, Laurie Anderson has worked with nearly every major technological innovation from the 1970s to today—from synthesizers to CD-ROMs to virtual reality. In this lecture, Marina Isgro, curator of Anderson’s largest U.S. museum show to date at the Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden, will speak about the artist’s impact and give a behind-the-scenes virtual tour of her exhibition.

Request for Artist Proposals

2023 Alley Art

Submit your proposal by April 19, 2022. 

The Rockwell Museum is seeking an experienced mural artist to work with Rockwell staff and High School Learning Center (HSLC) students to plan, design and paint a mural in downtown Corning, NY as part of the Museum’s ongoing Alley Art Project

The ideal candidate will have teaching experience, with a strong preference for direct experience working with teens. The selected artist will co-teach with Rockwell educators and take a leadership role in developing a cohesive design concept that represents the student artwork while honoring the artist’s creative vision.
