New Store Launches to Sell Finger Lakes Goods

Apr 16th, 2021

On-line store launches early to sell products from businesses affected by Covid-19

FLX Goods, a new retailer selling high-quality products made
exclusively in the Finger Lakes region, has announced the early launch of its on-line shopping
site www.flxgoods.com to support small businesses threatened by the impact of Covid-19 and the
decline of area tourism.
“We planned to launch both our retail shop and on-line store in June,” says Jim Cecere, owner of
FLX Goods. “But with Covid-19, many wonderful businesses were struggling, so we got our online
store running as quickly as possible.”
Based in Geneva, NY, FLX Goods carries specialty products ranging from honey, maple syrup
and coffee to handcrafted soaps, lotions and more, all made in the Finger Lakes region. They also
feature hard-to-find items, available only in local shops or on limited websites.
“The mission of FLX Goods is simple: We promote high-quality products produced by great
businesses in the Finger Lakes. We also mix and match products to create bundles, like our
Barbecue Bundle featuring Karma Sauces from Rochester, NY, Arbor Hill from Naples, NY, and
Wicked-ly Sent from Farmington, NY,” says Cecere. “We will have a traditional store and also
provide our customers with easy online shopping, including customized experiences and free
shipping.”
Greg Young, proprietor of Skaneateles Sugar Shack in Skaneateles, NY, says, “FLX Goods sells
our products individually, but also pairs them with other products made in our region. It’s really
unique.”

And it couldn’t come at a better time. When the March 2020 stay-at-home order was issued,
many small businesses suffered. Stacey Ingerick of Keuka Candy Emporium in Penn Yan, NY,
says, “We sell to locals, but the order from FLX Goods helped us keep our lights on.”
Plans are underway to open the FLX Goods retail store in late June, as part of efforts to re-open
commerce in the Finger Lakes area. They also plan to expand their product lines to include
refrigerated items, such as meat and locally-made cheese, as well as wine and craft alcohol.
“Our goal is to make all products from our region available to people across America and
internationally, too,” says Cecere. “We already sell to consumers in Europe and Canada, and will
continue to expand. People everywhere want high-quality, locally-made products created by
small business owners and our role is to make those connections happen.”
