Dr. Konstantin Frank Winery Full of Adventure and Opportunity

Jan 31st, 2022

Celebrating 60 years 1962-2022

A New Vintage

We hope that you had a wonderful holiday season and that 2022 is off to a great start.

Every new year is like a new vintage - full of opportunity and adventure.

We’ve had one of the best years ever at the winery, and we cannot thank you enough for your continued support.

As the vines in our vineyards rest during their winter hibernation, we’re busy at the winery planning for 2022 and releasing the first wines from the 2021 vintage.

The first releases of the year, our 2021 Rkatsiteli and our 2021 Sauvignon Blanc, are now available.

Full of Adventure

Whether you are relaxing poolside in sunny Florida or shoveling snow in the Northeast, you can imagine summertime feelings with a tropical glass of crisp white wine.

Our 2021 Rkatsiteli offers elegant, aromatic, and tropical notes with apricot, passion fruit, pineapple, and honeydew with undertones of ginger, white pepper, and a touch of grassiness.

You might also like our 2021 Sauvignon Blanc which offers classic aromas of grapefruit, guava, and wet stones that perch alongside dried grass and herbs. Ripe nectarine and passion fruit round out the generous body. It's beautifully delicate and substantial with cool climate acidity cutting through.

Full of Opportunity

“When Dr. Konstantin Frank emigrated from Europe to the U.S. in 1951, he began to research climate data and concluded that the Finger Lakes was the region most similar to Northern Europe. These cool climate regions have variable weather from year to year which changes the flavor profile and chemistry of the wines.”

“We began 2021 with a milder winter resulting in fewer buds damaged from the cold. This produced a larger grape crop which is allowing us to get back in stock on many of our wines. The growing season in 2021 was more typical for the region with cooler temperatures and adequate rainfall. The wines from this vintage will have crisp acidity balanced by delicate fruit flavors providing great structure. The Reds and Whites should age well as evidenced by our wine library going back to the 1962 vintage.”
