BRISTOL VALLEY THEATER PRESENTS THE CAPTIVATING IRISH MUSICAL "ONCE"

Jul 07th, 2022

NAPLES, NY (July 2022)

Bristol Valley Theater, the Finger Lakes' award-winning live professional theater, will continue its Summer Season with the Tony Award winning musical, Once.

With music and lyrics by Glen Hansard and Marketa Irglova and book by Enda Walsh, Once is the story of a down-on-his-luck Irish musician and a lively Czech immigrant that are drawn together by their shared love of music. Over the course of one week, their unexpected friendship evolves from joyful collaboration into a powerful but complicated love story that reminds us of the power of music to connect us all.

Once is a lot like life – it's hopeful and hard - and we're all just trying to find someone to shelter the storm with. Our lead characters are stuck until they meet each other and force each other to move forward. In the end, its the music that saves the Guy and Girl, and perhaps it may just do the same for you,” says Executive Artistic Director Karin Bowersock.

The cast features Martin Flowers as Guy and Jennifer Arfsten as Girl, Elizabeth Flanagan as Reza, Lennon Hu as Andrej, Chris McGraw as Billy, KatieAnn Bonavita as Ex Girlfriend, Kelan Smith as Svec, Jim Ditmars as Da, Eleonore Thomas as Baruska, Hannah Jane as Emcee and Girl Understudy, and Daniel Siani as Guy Understudy. Honeoye Falls native Michael Radi stars as Eamon and is also acting as the production's music director. The creative team consists of director David Shane, scenic designer Jack Golden, lighting designer Paul Hudson, costume designer Emily Liberatore, and sound designer Richard Miller.

Performances run from July 14-24 at the theater at 151 S. Main Street in Naples. Performance times are July 14-16 at 8pm, July 17 at 2pm, July 20-21 at 2pm, July 21-23 at 8pm, and July 24 at 2pm. Ticket prices are $40 for adults, $38 for seniors, and $27 for groups of 15 or more. For reservations and further information, call the box office at 585-374-6318 or visit www.bvtnaples.org.
