Explore Watkins Glen - Your Adventure Awaits

At the southern tip of Seneca Lake, you'll find the quaint and picturesque village of Watkins Glen. Famous for attractions such as Watkins Glen State Park, Watkins Glen International Racetrack, Seneca Lake Wine Trail, the Finger Lakes National Forest, and Farm Sanctuary - there is plenty to enjoy, explore, and experience in our beautiful area! Conde Nast Traverler recently named the Watkins Glen State Park the #1 park in NYS and ... on a list of must-see waterfalls for the nation, Rainbow Falls, in the Watkins Glen State Park is #8.

Beyond these hallmark stops, there is loads more to do! Hike at Sugar Hill State Forest and along the Catharine Valley Trail or Finger Lakes Trail. Sail the True Love or cruise on the Seneca Legacy or the Seneca Spirit with Captain Bill's. Taste your way around the region at breweries, distilleries, and creameries. Plus, boat, fish, and swim on Seneca Lake and her surrounding waterways. Explore the historic side of racing - Watkins Glen was home to the first post-World War II road race, hosted on our village streets on October 2, 1948. You can still drive the historic circuit and visit the International Motor Racing Research Center (one of the only centers of its kind in the world) for the story behind the speed. Agritourism opportunities include horseback riding, picking at local orchards, and cow cuddling. Farmers markets, year-round festivals, and unique events offer fun opportunities and excitement throughout the year.

As you chase waterfalls (there are dozens in our vicinity) be sure to stop in the village of Montour Falls. Shequaga Falls tumbles into its backyard and its Glorious T Historic District boasts an incredible array of historic architecture. Quaint shops and restaurants beckon you to stay awhile. A visit to Havana Glen Park offers rich rewards with beautiful Eagle Cliff Falls appearing after a short walk. Stick around and enjoy a picnic sourced from a local cafe.

Need some help planning your visit? Looking for maps and brochures? Stop by the Official Watkins Glen Area Visitor Center in downtown Watkins Glen, open daily, offering complete information for the Finger Lakes traveler.
