An Erie Canal Village

Newark is the commercial hub of Wayne County, Rts.31 & 88, 16 mi. north of NYS Thruway I-90 Exits 42 & 43. Points of interest: Hoffman Antique Clock Museum in the Public Library, Village Park Square, Barge Canal Lock #28, landscaped canal park with docking facilities, shore power, dump station, visitor center, laundry and shower facilities, the Arcadia Historical Society Bldg. at High and Mason Sts. and the Historic marker at the birthplace of modern Spiritualism, Hydesville. Annual Newarkfest is held the 2nd weekend of June. There are two industrial parks.
