The award recipient will be named in December.
Applicant Requirements for consideration:
- Resident of the 14-County Finger Lakes region
- Studying Tourism and Hospitality as a 2nd year student or beyond – OR – Employed in a tourism or hospitality role with 2 years of demonstrable experience, with a desire to further education and training in the field.
In 2023, Jakob Rothfuss, a SUNY Empire State Student and Monroe Community College A.S. graduate accepted the award during the organization's annual holiday gathering. The award helped defray costs of his education and fuel his passion for advocating for passenger rail service in the Finger Lakes.
We look forward to reviewing a healthy pool of advocates from colleges and universities across the Finger Lakes region and a growing pool of disciplines. For the first time, the scholarship committee will consider applications from established tourism and hospitality professionals seeking to further their education or training, in addition to typical students.
The Deadline to submit an application is November 15, 2024. Incomplete applications will not be considered for scholarship awards.
