Celebrate Space Week at the RMSC! Celebrate all things celestial, create your own galaxy, learn about astronauts, and experience out-of-this world activities.
We’ll end the week with a whole day of activities to officially mark one year until the 2024 Total Solar Eclipse!
SPACE WEEK EVENT HIGHLIGHTS
- Artful Science: Learn about gigantic clouds of gas and dust in space that form nebulas, then create your own unique colorful galaxy spin art.
- Tech Lab: Marvel at satellites being 3D printed in real-time and create and take a break to create galactic scratch art.
- Science Encounter: Watch mini rockets blast off at the Science Encounter cart and learn what propels them!
- Space Storytime: Cozy up for story hour and listen to stories about space exploration and astronauts!
- NASA TV in the Bausch: Watch streaming coverage of launches, spacewalks, and other mission events.
- Astronaut Hall of Fame: Play a matching game to learn about notable astronauts and their contributions to space exploration.
- Science on a Sphere: Experience our Science on a Sphere Data Theater’s spherical projection system through presentation topics such as Earth’s magnetic field, the moon, and the sun.

Saturday, April 8th join us in celebrating the one-year mark to the April 8, 2024 Total Solar Eclipse. Learn about the total solar eclipse in Rochester and join in on special programming.
SPECIAL ECLIPSE PROGRAMMING:
SATURDAY, APRIL 8
- Far Out: Experience a campus-wide demo of the sun, moon, and Earth in LARGE proportional scale. Except, this solar system model won’t take light years to travel to.*
- Science on a Sphere: Experience our Science on a Sphere Data Theater’s spherical projection system through presentation topics such as Earth’s magnetic field, the moon, and the sun.
