About Maggie:
Maggie “Mags” Field was born and raised in and around Watkins Glen. She studied filmmaking at SUNY Purchase and her editing skills landed her a job on the restoration of the classic 1962 David Lean film “Lawrence of Arabia”. If you see Mags, be sure to ask her about the time she met Peter O’Toole and Omar Sharif.
She went on to get her Masters in Education in Library Science. Mags has been teaching kids Video Production for over thirty years from Maryland to California and Indiana, and finally returning to replace her high school librarian in the Watkins Glen Central School District. Mags has been taking photos from the film days to now. She loves photographing her two cats, and the birds and wildlife in her woods in the wilds of Burdett NY. Mags enjoys a good glass of local wine (Bollicini!) while watching Turner Classic Movies, and hiking, golfing, and hanging at her family’s beach on Seneca Lake. She enjoys going to the antique boat shows with her beau Ford Knight, and going for rides in his classic Morehouse boat. She is retiring as high school district librarian VERY soon, and is looking forward to getting a new camera to continue with her photography in retirement, as well as time volunteering in the WG and Hector communities.
