Casa Larga's annual harvest celebration will be held Sunday, September 14, 2014 from 11:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m., rain or shine at Casa Larga Vineyards in Fairport, NY. It began, and continues to be, a way to celebrate and kick off harvest time at the winery and highlight the Colaruotolo family's Italian heritage. The Festival is best known for the authentic old world grape stomping that earned it the name of "Purple Foot."

But the Purple Foot Festival offers much more than foot-staining grape stomping. Guests can take their purple feet around the vineyard on hayrides, a vineyard tour or to the family-friendly activities. Activities for those under 21 include a children's area, a kid's maze, face painting, crafts, and a wide array of vendors with family-friendly wares.  For the adults, there will be live music performed by the band Loose Change, a Sangria Tasting Bar, a Harvest Tasting Bar, spirit and beer tastings, and tours of the winery.

This year, during the winery's 40th anniversary, the celebration will include hourly toasts and other activities to commemorate the winery's anniversary and late founder.

Festival goers can also attend seminars throughout the day: Two Crazy Chicks with Junk Food Wine Pairings; Cerevisaphiles and Oenophiles Unite;  Let them Eat Cake and Drink Wine Too!; Sangria Surprise Food Pairings. These fun, educational seminars will be hosted by Leslie Arduser-Brogan, Casa Larga Wholesale Brand Ambassador and Cathy Fabretti, Director of Retail.

Family-friendly booths at the festival include Apple Grove Farm, Bella Bags, Chase Farms, Chef William Sauces, Cummings Maple Syrup, D'Grater, F. Olivers, Glori Bead, Havana Handbags, K&K Craftique, Lazy Acre Alpacas, Lombardi's Gourmet, Mary's Fault, Moonbeam Alley, Moonlight Creamery, My Favorite Toy Box, Pampered Chef, Premier Designs, Side Hill Acres, Von Brake Spices and more.

Chase farms will offer roasted corn as well as biscuit shortcakes with fruit and whipped cream. Red Osier will have their signature roast beef and along with a few other items, a special wine sausage made with Casa Larga's Cab-Merlot. Tagsylvania

September 27th, 2014

In 1740 Atsingnetsing was a quiet village located in what today is known as Big Flats. With just 147 residents it was a wonderful place to live; that is until October 31st of that year. It was reported by the lone survivor at the time that a strange thick fog encompassed the village and the residents were possessed by beings with an uncontrollable craving for blood. They terrorized each other in ways far beyond comprehension of the normal mind. By the stroke of midnight on that fateful night Atsingnetsing was renamed Tagsylvania by the neighboring town folks as the town appeared to have been overtaken by some type of otherworldly creatures. The 1 lone survivor had a story so bizarre, no one would have believed it but for the evidence that lay everywhere within the town. A virus or an evil beyond mere comprehension – no one will ever know. What we do know is that every fall a thick fog begins to rise from the swamp behind Tag’s. Within that fog resides something that possesses all those in its path – and the residents of Tagsylvania seem to return to replay the night of their untimely demise… Do you dare to join them?
