It began, and continues to be, a way to celebrate and kick off harvest time at the winery and highlight the Colaruotolo family's Italian heritage. Activities for those under 21 include a children's area, a kid's maze, face painting, crafts, and a wide array of vendors with family-friendly wares.  For the adults, there will be live music performed by the band Loose Change, a Sangria Tasting Bar, a Harvest Tasting Bar, spirit and beer tastings, and tours of the winery.

Festival goers can also attend seminars throughout the day: Two Crazy Chicks with Junk Food Wine Pairings; Cerevisaphiles and Oenophiles Unite;  Let them Eat Cake and Drink Wine Too!; Sangria Surprise Food Pairings. These fun, educational seminars will be hosted by Leslie Arduser-Brogan, Casa Larga Wholesale Brand Ambassador and Cathy Fabretti, Director of Retail.

Schumer is the creator, star, writer and executive producer of Inside Amy Schumer, the popular Comedy Central television series which premiered in April 2013 to the network’s highest season premiere ratings of the year. Schumer’s provocative and hilariously wicked mind is on full display as she explores topics revolving around sex, relationships, and the general clusterf*ck that is life through a series of scripted vignettes, stand-up comedy, and man-on-the-street interviews. The show will return for a 3rd season next year. This summer she is in production on Universal’s Trainwreck that Schumer wrote and will star in alongside Bill Hader, Tilda Swinton and Brie Larson. Judd Apatow will produce and direct the feature film that is scheduled to be released in July 2015. Schumer’s hit one-hour stand-up special, Mostly Sex Stuff, became Comedy Central’s second-highest rated special in 2012. She was also one of the featured comedians on Comedy Central’s Roast of Roseanne, which followed her memorable and quotable performance on the 2011 Roast of Charlie Sheen. She was recently seen in such critically acclaimed series as FX’s Louie and HBO’s Girls. Previously, Schumer had a recurring role on the third season of Adult Swim’s Delocated, and guest starred in the latest season of Curb Your Enthusiasm. On the big screen, Schumer filmed the feature Seeking a Friend for the End of the World starring Steve Carrell and Kiera Knightley, as well as Price Check, an independent feature opposite Parker Posey which premiered at the 2012 Sundance Film Festival. Her album Cutting placed in the top 5 of the Billboard Charts and has been included on multiple Best Comedy Albums of the Year awards’ lists. The comic made her network debut in 2007 when she starred on NBC’s Last Comic Standing and soon after co-starred on 30 Rock and received her own Comedy Central Presents special. She co-hosted Hoppus on Music with Mark Hoppus of Blink 182 on Fuse and made her fifth appearance at the Montreal Comedy Festival this summer. Schumer is a founding member of The Collective, a New York based Theatre Company, and a graduate of The William Esper studio where she studied for 3 years. http://www.amyschumer.com/ To purchase tickets online, visit: http://www.ticketmaster.com/amy-schumer-rochester-new-york-09-20-2014/event/00004C7FBB35D3A7?artistid=1180715&majorcatid=10002&minorcatid=51.

Seneca County in the Civil War Lecture

September 24th, 2014

The Geneva Historical Society's 2014 Fall Lecture Series kicks off Wednesday, September 24 with "Seneca County and the Civil War," a presentation by county historian Walter Gable. Based on his book of the same name, the program will explore the stories of the people of Seneca County who endured the Civil War years. While unique to Seneca County, their stories reflect the common experiences of many people in upstate New York during the war. Gable will share the tales of the many brave men who left home to fight, including solider John Hoster, who was imprisoned at the infamous Andersonville prison camp. At home, the county's farmers fed Lincoln’s hungry army, and its industries provided materiel for the war effort. After the war, Waterloo’s celebration in remembrance of fallen soldiers was replicated around the country, and the village is now recognized as the official birthplace of Memorial Day.

Driven by Derek Trucks' signature slide-guitar sound and Susan Tedeschi's honey-to-husk voice, Tedeschi Trucks Band delivers an electrifying blend of blues, soul, jazz, and rock drawing from an ever-evolving song list. The band formed in 2010 and also features two harmony singers, a three-piece horn section, keyboards, bass, and a pair of drummers. Just four years in, TTB has toured extensively throughout the U.S., Canada, Australia, Europe, and Japan, headlining the Newport Jazz Festival, co-headlining tours with B.B. King and The Black Crowes, and playing to packed houses in the world’s most celebrated venues from Red Rocks Amphitheatre and the Beacon Theatre to the Hollywood Bowl and Royal Albert Hall. TTB’s debut release Revelator, produced at the couple’s Swamp Raga home studio earned both a Grammy and Blues Music Award, while 2011's dynamic live follow-up, Everybody’s Talkin’, delivered a double-disc classic reminiscent of legendary concert recordings like Mad Dogs and Englishmen and The Allman Brothers Band’s At Fillmore East. Currently the band is touring in support of its second studio effort, Made Up Mind, which entered the Billboard 200 at #11 and was hailed by Rolling Stone as “equal parts Stax and Muscle Shoals without dilution of either.” www.tedeschitrucksband.com Alan Evans' PLAYONBROTHER will be supporting the Tedeschi Trucks Band at RBTL's Auditorium Theatre on September 25th. Tagsylvania

September 27th, 2014

In 1740 Atsingnetsing was a quiet village located in what today is known as Big Flats. With just 147 residents it was a wonderful place to live; that is until October 31st of that year. It was reported by the lone survivor at the time that a strange thick fog encompassed the village and the residents were possessed by beings with an uncontrollable craving for blood. They terrorized each other in ways far beyond comprehension of the normal mind. By the stroke of midnight on that fateful night Atsingnetsing was renamed Tagsylvania by the neighboring town folks as the town appeared to have been overtaken by some type of otherworldly creatures. The 1 lone survivor had a story so bizarre, no one would have believed it but for the evidence that lay everywhere within the town. A virus or an evil beyond mere comprehension – no one will ever know. What we do know is that every fall a thick fog begins to rise from the swamp behind Tag’s. Within that fog resides something that possesses all those in its path – and the residents of Tagsylvania seem to return to replay the night of their untimely demise… Do you dare to join them?
