You can visit inspiring galleries that show off local and cultural talent from the region and throughout the world, or discover a museum and the fun activities each one has to offer you! Not only will you see a lot, but you will also hear and laugh a lot with the various music festivities and theater showings throughout the Finger Lakes!

Art


Here in the Finger Lakes there are over 80 art galleries! You can view local artistic talent at EastHill Gallery at the Rochester Folk Art Guild, where you can see or purchase pottery, clothing designs, weaving, woodworking and graphic designs. While in Ithaca, take in the Community Art Partnership or  Visit the Memorial Art Gallery  in Rochester.  To see many different forms of art visit  John D. Barrow Art Gallery and see over 200 historical paintings! Remember to visit each artsy shop before you leave and take a piece of the Finger Lakes home with you!

Museums


Spend a day in Corning, NY at the Corning Museum Glass where you can see live glassblowing demonstrations everyday and shop their huge glass collection! Besides the Corning Museum of Glass, other worldly known museums that you must check out include the George Eastman House International Museum of Photography and Film and the Rochester Museum and Science Center in Rochester, or the Rockwell Museum of Western Art in Corning. Visiting a number of museum's in Ithaca will be easy when you visit Ithaca's Discovery Trail which represents roughly 7 area museums. With over 135 museums in the Finger Lakes, there is plenty of culture and history to be shared!

Music


With so much to do and so much to see, the Finger Lakes also offer something your ears will want to listen to! Clemens Center for performing arts located in Elmira, NY offers live concerts, Broadway series, dance recitals, educational shows for kids in school and more! Or visit Sodus Bay Lighthouse Museum on a Sunday during their summer concert series which open with a July Fourth concert and end with a Labor Day Weekend concert.
Center for the Arts in Homer hosts a variety of different art and music events. Also, don’t miss local music talent playing at the Finger Lakes wineries throughout the summer and fall seasons!

Theatre


The Finger Lakes has 14 professional theatre companies. Theatres in the Finger Lakes include regional playhouses that are still taking bows several generations after their first curtain call…Well-known theatres include the Merry-Go-Round Playhouse in Auburn, the Bristol Valley Theater in Naples, the Hangar Theatre in Ithaca, and the area's only year-round professional theatre, the Kitchen Theatre Company in Ithaca.
