Canandaigua, NY (November 19, 2007) – The Bristol Mountain Winter Resort commenced snowmaking operations for the 2007-08 season at 11 pm on Friday, November 16th.

According to Bristol’s Mountain Manager, Ken Keenan, “Snowmaking began on Upper Meteor, the flats on Upper Rocket, Sunbelt, Halley's Run and the Shooting Star trails and will continue as temperatures allow.”

In addition to offering 33 slopes and trails on 1,200 feet of vertical rise for downhill/alpine patrons, the 2007-08 season at Bristol Mountain brings with it the opening of a new Summit Nordic Center. The new facility will offer cross country and snowshoeing rentals with access to three kilometers of gentle rolling Nordic terrain. The three kilometers is split up over a 1.8K loop and a 1.2K loop with snowmaking and lighting being available on the 1.2K loop. The new Nordic terrain will be maintained by newly added grooming equipment which is capable of track setting and skate type surface grooming.

Winter snowsports enthusiasts can get updated conditions reports by calling 585.374.1100, 585.234-5000 or by checking online at www.bristolmountain.com.
