SENECA LAKE WINE TRAIL NOVEMBER AND DECEMBER
DECK THE HALLS WEEKEND EVENTS SOLD OUT!

Watkins Glen, NY (November 8, 2007) – Both the Seneca Lake Wine Trail’s 2007 November and December Deck The Halls Weekends, scheduled for the weekend of November 17 and 18, and December 1 and 2, 2007, have officially sold out completely! These fun-filled wine and food pairing weekend events, now in their 16th consecutive year, allow ticket holders to visit all 31 participating wineries, receiving wine and food samples at each location, plus a unique ornament from each winery intended to be placed on the complimentary, full-sized handmade grapevine wreath each ticket holder receives.

“The key to this event, like all our weekend events,” describes Paul Thomas, executive director of the Seneca Lake Wine Trail, “is the pairing of complimentary wine and foods at each of the wineries. Wine or foods tasted alone are generally much less… zesty, than when they are creatively paired together. For this reason, participants are also given a complimentary cookbook featuring all 31 recipes, so if they stumble across a food and wine combination that really knocks their socks off, they can buy a couple bottles of wine, and share the combination later with friends and family”

Event co-sponsor, The Christmas House, in Elmira, NY will be providing enormous gift baskets to be given away to two lucky attendees. For the first time ever, based on a suggestion by Julie Delgrosso, Christmas House owner, eleven select wineries and the Christmas House will be providing a series of collectible, custom-labeled wines highlighting the "12 Wine Days of Christmas" parody song! This will be a fun way for customers to obtain a case of terrific wines representing a wide variety of wines produced in the Seneca Lake Appellation. The eleven wines available at specific wineries listed on the Trail's website, will be available for purchase, with the Christmas House giving away the 12th bottles to ticketed customers who have purchased the first eleven bottles from the participating wineries.

And while each Deck the Halls celebrations are considered "weekend" events, for the first time ever a majority of the participating wineries will also be open for ticket-holding customers the Friday afternoon preceding each weekend from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m., making it easier for attendees intent on collecting all 31 wineries to visit all the participating wineries.

Tickets for the 2008 Deck the Halls Weekend events will go on sale in mid-December of this year. Tickets range in price from $36 to $65 depending on the type of ticket preferred. All ticket types will be capable of being purchased by either calling the Seneca Lake Wine Trail toll-free at 877-536-2717, ordering online at www.senecalakewine.com , or taking advantage of Wegmans’ “That’s The Ticket” desk, located at virtually all area Wegmans locations. People interested in attending this event are advised to purchase their tickets sooner, rather than later, as the event consistently sells out every year, oftentimes months in advance.

Ticket packages, incorporating accommodations and/or transportation as part of the overall price, will also be available for the Deck the Halls Weekends. Additional information is available by calling the Seneca Lake Wine Trail at 877-536-2717
