History & Museums: Women's Rights | Underground Railroad | Soaring & Aviation

Where the movement began. The women's rights movement had its origin in the Seneca Falls area and is celebrated at several venues such as the Women's Rights National Historical Park and the National Women's Hall of Fame, both located in Seneca Falls.

The Women's Rights National Historical Park includes the Wesleyan Chapel where the first Women's Rights Convention was held in 1848. The home of Elizabeth Cady Stanton, Seneca Falls, offers additional insight into this exciting movement.

In nearby Waterloo, the restored home of Thomas and Mary Ann M'Clintock was the site of the planning for the First Women's Rights Convention.

The National Women's Hall of Fame recognizes the accomplishments of women who have made significant contributions to politics, the arts, athletics, humanities, the sciences, government, education, business and philanthropy. The exhibit features some of America's most outstanding women.
